Jubilate Singers’ COVID-19 Safety Policy

The Jubilate Singers takes very seriously the safety of our members, guest artists, and audience. We follow carefully the scientific research on airborne transmission of viruses and recognize that choral singing is associated with a greater risk than many other activities. Thus, even as provincial and municipal restrictions are being lifted, we are maintaining a cautious approach, as we have done throughout the pandemic.

Current policies as of October 25, 2022

Concert audiences:

  • We respectfully encourage audience members to wear masks while in the concert venue.

  • We will perform the November 26 concert without intermission (about an hour and a quarter) to avoid the crowding that occurs at intermission receptions. We look forward to the day when we can once again mingle with our loyal audience members and share refreshments together.

  • We encourage patrons to buy tickets in advance to avoid bottlenecks at the door. Advance tickets are available through Eventbrite.

Choristers, artistic staff, and volunteers:

  • All choir members are required to wear masks during rehearsals and performances. Wearing masks while singing can be inconvenient, but we do it to protect ourselves and each other.

  • We use a CO2 monitor to assess air circulation during rehearsals, opening windows when necessary.

  • All volunteers, including front-of-house staff, will wear masks at all times while at the venue.
